How to Make Moon Cookies in 5 Steps

January 13, 2016

This recipe is so easy to make and the result is a delicious moon cookie. For me, the cookies are most delicious the next day if they last so long and my family doesn't eat it all ;)

Ingredients:

For cake:
- Sugar: 240 grams
- Flour: 240 grams
Butter: 240 grams
- 8 Eggs
- Vanilla sugar: 1 packet (8 grams)
- Baking soda: 1 teaspoon

For frosting:
- Icing sugar: 500 grams
- Rum: 8 spoons
- Water: 8 spoons

Preparation:
1.
A first place apart yolk and egg white. Whisk egg whites into a snow and then add to yolk-sugar and vanilla sugar. Mix until it becomes foamy.

2.
Mix the flour with baking soda. Then flour and egg whites are slowly stirred into the yolk.

3.
We cover baking tray (44x34cm size) with baking paper and pour the mass and spread upon it. Bake for 35 minutes at 180°C in a pre-heated oven. In the meantime prepare the frosting. Mix all ingredients together until the sugar powder is dissolved.

4.
When the cake is baked and before we pour the frosting on the cake we once again stir it. Then we wait for everything to cool down.

5.
Once the frosting hardens take a glass and start cutting out the moons. They should be approximately 3 cm wide.

And ta-dah here are mine moon cookies :)

I hope you liked this recipe and that you find it as delicious as I do.
